The Autumn Season

Now that we are into the Autumn season, the class decided to go for a Nature Walk in the local park. Here, we noticed lots of different trees, like sycamore, plane, oak, horsechestnut and many more!
Look at our lovely photos!

My Weekend

One morning, I went out to play a match. My mam brought me out. I saw my friend and I waved at him. So then when we got to Fairview Park, we went into the dressing room and then we went out onto the pitch to play.
When the match kicked off in the first minute, I scored a goal! Then, a second later, my friend, Leon, scored.
Then, when the match was nearly over, the other team scored an OWN GOAL!. The referee blew the whistle and the game was all over. We all shook hands and our manager called us over for a team talk.
"If you play like that all the time, you will win the League!" our manager said.
When I got home, my uncle, Graham, brought me up town to but me something. He brought me to Smyths and I picked out a scooter.
Then, we got the Luas back down to my Nanny's. My Nanny gave me a present too, then I was very happy!
Later, I went to my club and played more football with all of my friends. Next, I went into the big, huge games room to have a game of snooker. I was beaten but I was still happy.
When I arrived home, I watched the X Factor with my mam and my mam's boyfriend and we got a Chinese. I got a chicken curry, it was lovely!
The next day, my mam's boyfriend brought me out to his mam's and his mam said "I heard that you were playing in the match and that you scored in the first minute!"
She couldn't believe me!

A Winter Night

My my loves the winter nights because the weather gets so cold. When she comes home from work, she would put the dinner on and clean the house. Then we would come home from school, do our homework and have our dinner.
Some of my friends might knock for me to come out and play. My sister, Sadhbh, would be crying to go out and my ma would say "Stay in". Sadhbh would say to my ma, "Ma, where does the birds go in the bad weather?"
"They would be in their nests high up in the trees",
ma would answer.

Arctic Adventure!

One day, I was watching tv. I was watching a programme about the Arctic. It said 'the word 'Arctic' comes from the Greek word 'Arkticos' which means 'Country of the Great Bear'.
I could see polar bears that were huge, it was fantastic!. I wished I could go to the Artcic. Then, suddenly, my dad walked in and said "Your wish has come true because we are going to the Arctic next week". I couldn't wait!
For the week, I was studying the Arctic. I learned lots.
Soon, it was time to go. It took hours to get there. We were staying in a huge tent. I couldn't wait to to see the polar bears but my dad said "There are no polar bears around here".
I went outside to have a look. I saw a cave. I went inside. Then, suddenly, I saw a weird fish frozen in the ice. It was a prehistoric animal. I wasn't really sure what it was called, so I went back to the tent. I asked my dad to come and see.
On the way, I slipped and hurt my leg because I was running, but it was OK.
Soon, my dad and I got to the cave. I asked him what the fish was.
I looked at his face. I saw a huge smile. He said "That is a Mosasaurus". Then he said, "we are going to be rich!".
It was the most brilliant time of our lives!!

One day, I thought I saw ninety or even one hundred aliens!!
The mothership was huge! I was being abducted by them. Between you and me, I was kind of excited. They let me back because of my stinky feet. It was really funny and I'm sure it will happen again!

The Skeleton

There are 206 bones in the human skeleton. Our bones are very strong. The skeleton does three very important jobs:
1) It helps us move around
2) It supports the body
3) It protects the organs inside the body.
Bones are made from calcium and they are very hard. They are alive and grow with us. Without our skeleton, we would look like blobs!

Bird is the Word!

One day, I was reading a book about birds and I read that there are 9,000 different types of birds. I also learned that some birds don't fly, such as the roadrunner (BEEP! BEEP!). I watched a tv programme about birds and it said that they lay eggs.

Where in the World?

If you could be transported instantly from your class to any place on the planet, where would you go and why?

I would like to go to the Statue of Liberty because it's in New York. I would like to go to the top of the Statue of Liberty and see the whole of New York. To go up to the top would be very exciting 'cause you would get a perfect view. I have never been to New York. I heard that it is a very big city. It is probably one on the biggest cities in America. It would take about three to four hours on the plane to get there.

I would like to go to the North Pole because of all the snow. I would have a snowball fight with all my friends. I'd bring about 20 jackets with me because it's very cold up there.

I would like to go to Ayers Rock in Australia because I would like to try to run around it and see how long it would take. Then it would try to climb it.

I would like to go to the White House in Washingtin DC to talk to the president. I would ask him if he could build more companies in Ireland and help us more.
By James.

I would like to go to Old Trafford to play in a Champions League with the United Team. I would play up front with Rooney. I have calm nerves. I would enjoy playing for Manchester United.
