Paper helicopters

Today our class made paper helicopters. We all had to cut out different shapes from a template and then we folded them along dotted lines to make the rotors. We used paper clips at the bottom as a weight. We all dropped the helicopters from a height and watched them as the rotor blades were spinning around as they fell.we all noticed that when we bent the rotor blades the other way round that the blades changed direction in thier spin.We all had races with our helicopters to see which one was the best. Brandon said the best one should be the helicopter that stays in the air the longest.

Halloween Night

One Halloween night it was not really bright.
Clouds covered the moon.
The MONSTERS are coming soon.
What will we do,
Will we hide??
I'm not going out,
I'm staying inside!

by Conor Pigott

(DOOM)

A witch flew in to my room on a magic broom
She said to me fear this year your doom is near

Ghouls and skeletons walking down the street looking for
Blood and people to eat

But it was not till then when doom will desend at half past ten
The world will end

At half past ten I saw a bright light the world was doomed
As a meteorite het earths core no one could breath any more as
The world ended

The end
By KILLIAN MCKENNA

It is Halloween night,
Everybody is going to get a fright,
And when the moon comes out,
Everyone is going to shout aahhhhhhhhh
After that the beast will come,
And like a machine it will hum,
And it will kill you easily.

This is part two of my three part slideshow, which should be finished by the end of the year. I think I made part two alot longer than part one. It has a cowboy, horse, elephant, and ladder. I made it using pivot stick figure, a programme I find very good. I made this one by double framing the pictues. Hope you like it.

ON A MAD ONE!!!

On my skateboard,
beyond the Spar,
around the corner,
under a bin,
in an alley,
out the alley,
far from my house,
to the Mace,
up on the roof,
through the window,
away from the flats,
close to the mattress,
over the railings,
outside Urbano,
inside the Spar,
beside the apartments,
near the Mace,
in your face .

AROUND THE STREET

On the path,
Beyond the road,
Around the street,
Under the slide,
In the park,
out the door,
Far away,
To a place,
Up the canal,
Through the Port Tunnel,
Away today,
Close to the bridge,
Over the bridge,
Outside the garden,
Inside the house,
Beside the dog,
Near my bedroom,
going to the bathroom.

BENG
On the bus,
Through the tunnel,
Beyond the bridge,
Away to the dock,
Around the bend,
Close to the sea,
Under the sky,
Over the days,
In the night,
Outside the shop,
Out of the house,
Inside the car,
Far out at sea,
Beside my friend,
To the city,
Near and far,
Up up and away.

CRUISING

On my bike ,
I went up town ,
I got near Smyths and
turned around .
Some woman jumped in a car ,
she got flung out ,
she didnt get far .
After that I went inside the shop ,
I had 20 cent,
I got a cool pop .
Through the tunnel at the port ,
I stopped right beside the court .
Some bloke ran beyond the court very fast ,
He went over the hill he was away at last .
Then I was close to the Spar ,
I was right outside,
I got a Mars bar .

ON MY BIKE

Through me window,
Around to the hospital,
Close to the clouds,
I'm near Heaven,
I don't fear,
I'm outside,
popping wheelies in a wheelchair,
going up the faster,
going down the hill,
Haydo gave me a smack of a drill,
I was left like Jack and Jill.

ON MY WAY TO MY NANNY'S

On Saturday,
beyond Friday,
around the corner,
under the wheel,
in Sheriff St,
outside the school,
far from home,
to my nanny's,
up the hill,
through Summerhill,
away from my house,
close to my nanny's,
over the ramp,
outside the shop,
inside the pitch,
beside my nanny's,
near my uncle's.

ON A CAR

On my bike,
through the grass,
beyond the chipper,
I'm away at last,
around your house,
please close the door,
under the fence and
over the door,
in your house,
outside the kitchen,
out the door,
inside your car I got very far,
beside the movies,
near the bar,
up the stairs,
jump on a car.

On Friday 12th of June we went up to Marino College for a transition day. I was thinking of going to that school because my brother goes there. We went in to the Science room to do experiments with 2 pieces of paper, one pink & one blue. It was fun. So after that we went in to Home Economics. Josh and I were working together. We made fairy cakes. We had to put them in the oven for fifteen minutes. Luke and Killian were in front of us. They put their cakes in the wrong oven. Josh's and my cakes were done. I ate one of them and I gave one to Theresa and Miss Finn.

Last Wednesday when nearly every body in 5th went to a football match the rest of 5th class made cakes and brown bread. It was fun and Jordan Dody and I made a Larriers cake it was great. The people who made them were me, Jordan D, Alex, Taylor M, Jason, Corrie and Leon. Corrie, Jason and I made cakes. I made some cakes that look like Vincent Van Goghs painting Starry Night. We got to taste the cakes and they had too much food colouring but most of us liked them. Alex and Taylor M made chocolate fairy cakes and they were very nice. We were all asked did we want bread, some people had the brown bread and then we went home.

On the 9th June we played the semi finals for our school against Queens of Angels. We were playing in Fairview. We waited ages for them to come it was like 1 hour and finally they came in different groups. Then when we saw them coming we got back on the pitch to warm up.We were doing stretches and passing the ball and heading it.We did our team talk and we were telling each other where to play. I was picked centre back with Hayden. I was very nervous but then when it kicked off I got into it. A few minutes into the game Taylor scored and at half time it was 3-0 to us. I ran off the pitch and got a big sup of water. We all got back on the pitch and the other team kicked off, so in the end we won 6-2. I was delighted that we had won. So, we will go to the final in time to come

We all went up to the computer room yesterday and we finshed our french video's. It was great. I had some waster of a song "Fly On The Wings of Love".The pictures were very funny. So thats all I have to say.......

All of us went to the Bodies Exhibition yesterday in the Ambassador except Jake and Taylor M. We went out of the school and got in a line. We walked up there. When we got there we got our picture taken. Then we went inside. We got our tickets and went into a room full of bodies. They were horrible. We saw a heart and parts of bodies and we even saw little dead babies. We read all the stuff about the bodies. Then we went the toilet and then we went back to the school. We washed our hands and got our lunch.

Calling All Young Film Critics

Yesterday I found out that I won a competition to be a film critic. I will be on a jury panel for this years Dublin Coca-cola Cinemagic Film Festival. I was one of few people to get on the jury panel. The panel will consist of people my age. We will be looking at some movies and will decide if it was good or bad, suitable for a certin age and what it was really about. I also have the chance to win a prize for writing the best review on the film. I hope I win the competition, because it will be a really great achievement for me.

Going Hunting

Author:
Hi, my name is Shane. I wrote this story about my first time to go hunting. I am in fifth class. I like writing stories and playing football.

My Hunting Trip

Last Sunday I went hunting down in Cavan. We went down in a van and we had four dogs in the back. There were cows in the first field. They chased us. In the next field there were lots of rabbit holes. I nearly fell into one. It was my first time hunting. In the second field there was a rabbit looking out of his burrow. He ran out into a different burrow. Then we saw a girl with her dogs. They all started to fight so we had to get them back. They kept on going over so we moved on to a different field. There were no rabbits there. So we went back to the van. When we came back to Luke’s house we saw lots of Christmas trees out the back. So we brought the dogs over to see if they could get rabbits. But they didn’t catch any. We decided to go home. It was my first time rabbit hunting and I enjoyed it.

My Unfortunate Frog

My grandad gave me a frog for my birthday. it was an albino frog. My uncle gave it to my grandad and my grandad gave it to me. I had it for a year and it ate turtle food. You get the food in Paddy's Pet Shop. It costs four euros and that's the same place I got my aunty's gold fish in.

I got a tank, that cost me ten euro. I got a few rocks and a little plant and I fed it every two days. I cleaned its tank once a week. I liked it but everyone else hated it! But on Christmas Eve I was cleaning out the tank and I was as happy as Larry because it was going to be Christmas the next day.

All of a sudden the frog jumped down the toilet and it was there for a minute and it swam down the toilet. That was the end of the frog. Then I rang up my grandad and I told him the unfortunate news and he said "Good luck to it!"

Last week the Miss had nine dice with pictures on them. She rolled them and we had to make a story out of them. On my nine dice I got a house, a plane, a flower, a lock, an arrow, an L plate sign, a fish, a happy face and the earth. This is my story.

THE FISH AND THE FORTUNE TELLER

Once upon a time there was a fish. The fish thought he was special so he went to see Happy Face. Happy Face was a fortune teller. She was the best fortune teller on the earth. The fortune teller told the fish that he would save the world some day. So the fish gave her a big huge bunch of flowers.
The fish went to get his pilot licence. The fish just about passed his test so he got a L plate. It was the fishes first day on the job and he had to fly to a place twelve and a half hours away from where he was. He was about three hours through his journey.

He put it on auto-pilot for a few minutes because he had to do something. When he came back he found out he forgotten to fill the plane with petrol. Then he saw a crack in a window down the back of the plane. He went down to the window which was cracked.

He saw the fortune teller thrown stones at the plane. The plane started falling down to the ground. Then the fish got a phone call off the fortune teller. The fortune teller said that she was allergic to the flowers she got off the fish. The fortune teller had a happy face because she thought that the fish was going to die.

The auto-pilot battery died and the plane came crashing down into a house. The fish then ran to the closest door but it was locked. He ran to the next door, it was also locked. He went a window which was big enough to jump. Thats what the fish did and he did it quickly. The fortune teller started chasing the fish throwing stones saying "I will kill you Mr.Fish".

Then the fishes boss came home from work to find her house crashed by a plane with an L plate sign on the back of it. She started crying her eyesout. The fortune teller ended up losing her breath and stopped chasing him and the fish lived happily ever after.
