Vive La France by Patrick

5th Class from St. Laurence O’Toole’s Boys and Girls went to Eu in France. We went on March 18th. We went to Eu because St. Laurence O’Toole is buried there and our school is named after him.

First we went to the school to meet up. Then we chatted a bit. After that we went on the bus. Soon we got to the airport and went to Burger King. Me, Lee, Alan and Damien were in a group with Miss Sunderland. After a while we went on the plane and it took about an hour and a half, I think. After that we had to wait for a missing guitar and William’s bag. Then we went on the bus. It took about 3 hours. Soon we got to the hostel and we had dinner. We went for a walk in the park and Fr. Deco pretended to be a ghost. When we got back I was very mucky. Then we went to sleep.

On Tuesday morning we got dressed to go to the French school. We sang two songs which are “I’m yours” and “Molly Malone”. After a while we went to a field to play different sports. There was bowling, basketball, Frisbee, Gaelic and Ping-Pong. There was a game where you have to throw a ball in some cans and a rope where you have to make a ball go in a circle. After all that we went back to the hostel, had dinner and went to sleep.

On Wednesday we got dressed in our uniforms because we had mass at the St. Laurence O’Toole’s Church. After that we went to the war graves and the fish market. Next we went back to the hostel. Soon we got to see a movie. The movie was called Water Horse. The movie was great.

On Thursday we had to pack our bags and put them on the bus. The bus ride was about three hours. When we got to the Eiffel Tower we all bought souvenirs and then we went to Aqua Boulvard. There were a lot of slides and more. After that we got on the plane and went home to Dublin.

I had a fantastic time. My favourite part of the trip was Aqua Boulevard.
