This picture was taken around the year 1993/1994. My uncle was part of the film "War of the Buttons". This picture was taken on the set of that film. My uncle is called Karl Byrne. He is the third from the left in the front row. The photo was taken somewhere down the country.
The picture was taken because it was the end of the filming.

Where in the World?

If you could be transported instantly from your class to any place on the planet, where would you go and why?

I would like to go to the Statue of Liberty because it's in New York. I would like to go to the top of the Statue of Liberty and see the whole of New York. To go up to the top would be very exciting 'cause you would get a perfect view. I have never been to New York. I heard that it is a very big city. It is probably one on the biggest cities in America. It would take about three to four hours on the plane to get there.

I would like to go to the North Pole because of all the snow. I would have a snowball fight with all my friends. I'd bring about 20 jackets with me because it's very cold up there.

Table of the week go on holidays!!

This week the table of the week, "The Conkers", celebrated by going to Hollywood!

They cut themselves out of a photograph on our whiteboard and then pasted it on to a picture of the Hollywood sign!

Camping

You decide to go on a camping holiday with your friends. Everything is fine until darkness falls and you are about to go to sleep. What happens next?

PIERRE: Suddenly I felt something thump against our tent and I got a fright. I put my head out. There was a big huge bear. I called the animal service and told them. They told me not to panic, that they would be there in a minute. I didn't panic but suddenly the tent started ripping. I called them back and they said they were hiding in the trees. I pretended to be asleep. I could hear gunshots. The bear was dead and they had saved us. They brought me home from the forest.

JAMES: Suddenly I felt something thump against our tent. I was really scared. What could it be? Maybe it's a monster, or even a bear. Or it could be a man or a badger. Then something hits the tent again. I say, "Alex, wake up!! There's something out there!" Alex says, "You're a mad thing, there's nothing out there. Go back to sleep." "You'll see when you get eaten alive!", I say. So I went out and brought a torch with me. I looked around. I was so happy when I found out that it was just a branch rubbing off the tent. So I went over and snapped it. I jumped back into my tent and went to sleep.

Imagine a town named after you!

The boys read about Romulus and Remus. Afterwards they imagined a town could be called after them and they wrote about it. Here are some of their towns:

Connolly Town.

My town is in Dublin. It is called Connolly Town. What is special about it is there will be flats, no drug addicts, no pubs, no stolen cars. There are more police, no spray painting on walls, no banks getting robbed. It 1600 acres big. There are schools, take away places, parks, lots of houses, apartments, chinese take aways and an awful lot of libraries. There is no crime in Connolly Town. The area will have playgrounds. It is a gorgeous place. Also there is a stadium.

Faysville.

Faysville is in Santaponza. It is 17,000,000 acres in size. It has public swimming pools. It has underground train lines and underground streets. It has trains, cars, hover crafts, cars, buses and motor bikes. It has a 70,000 metre long beach. In my house there is a little river. I have my own machine to make money and I can have all the money I want. I have 8 Lamraginis, 10 Ferraris and 11 Porsches. I own 3 jewellry stores and have my own train stations. I am the king of this town.

St. Patricks Day Stories

We had to write St. Patrick day stories using the 4 pictures below that were picked by James.
Jonathan:
Last st.patricks day I was so excited to drive up to the parade with my uncle. Suddenly a rainbow appeared. It was so bright you could walk on it. Then I tried to walk on it. Sadly I could not. A moment later a sign appeared. It said "Stand on me and slide into a magic world." So we did it and at the end of the rainbow there was a little leprechuan. He said to me, 'How are you.' I said 'I am fine. where are we?' The leprechuan replied 'You are in the land of the giant rainbow.' He said sadly 'you have to leave for the parade.' I said 'Before I go, what is your name?' But he disappered so we went on to watch the parade.

Luke:
Last St. Patricks day I went down to the parade. Suddenly a riot broke out during the parade. Eventually I ran into the €2 shop but it wasen't a good idea. There was an evil, crazed leprechaun in the shop. Just then he whacked me with his pot of gold and stole my credit card. I said to the thrilling, crazed leprechaun, 'Why do you need my credit card? Don't you have a pot of gold?' Next he said nothing and knocked me out. After a while he took me to the end of the rainbow. I was forced to fight him. 8 secounds later I demolished him. After I took his car and went home.

Jordan:
One St. Patricks day I was going down to the parade when suddenly I saw something small and green in a bush. I didn't know what it was. I checked. It was a little person with a beard and a hat. Meanwhile it disappered with a black bowl. Eventually I saw it driving a Nissan Micra. 'Wait,' I thought back, 'That was no little person, it was a leprechaun!' He was driving to his rainbow but he was too small to see over the wheel. He crashed into the parade and came out the front window. Sadly, he smacked off a pole. Finally, he got arrested by the police. He was really angry.
